Abstract:
A central element of GoMOOS is the use of Ocean Data Acquisition Systems (ODAS) in a telemetering buoy array. The array is divided into shelf, basin, and nearshore environments.
Purpose:
The buoy array provides the platforms for a suite of sensors that will furnish long-term time series data on the physical, optical, and bio-optical fields in the Gulf of Maine.

These data were obtained from the Campbell logger files telemetered in from the buoys.
Process_Step:
Process_Description:
The data is telemetered to a PC in the Physical Oceanographic Group at the University of Maine in Orono. The PC appends the incoming data to a file specific to that buoy that initiated the data transmission. These files are then parsed into constituent datastreams according to the instruments that produced them. Algorithms are then run on the raw datastreams, and the data parameters are appended to time series NetCDF files, which are used to update the MySQL database that drives the system.
